Red Sea Wind Energy S.A.E. operates a 650 MW onshore wind farm near Ras Ghareb on the western coast of the Gulf of Suez. Developed under a 25-year Build-Own-Operate model, the project is owned by a consortium of ENGIE (35%), Orascom Construction (25%), Toyota Tsusho Corporation (20%), and Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (20%).
The wind farm reached its first Commercial Operation Date in December 2024 and was fully commissioned ahead of schedule. With 104 Goldwind turbines, it is currently the largest operational wind farm in the Middle East and Africa, supplying clean energy to more than one million homes and avoiding approximately 1.5 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
