Red Sea Wind Energy - Project Update On the 17th of May 2023, Red Sea Wind Energy received the Golden License. This is an important milestone achieved on time, enabling the project to proceed on schedule. RSWE is authorized to construct the 500 MW wind farm and produce electricity for 20 years from the commercial operation date (COD).
The project construction progress has reached 29% by the end of September 2023, in line with the original plan. We are proud that the highest standards in regard to Health and safety are maintained at the site, and the number of 734,817 safe working hours without any Lost Time Accident has been encountered in accordance with RSWE’s Zero Harm target.
Activities at the site are currently carried out by Orascom Construction PLC, the EPC Contractor for the construction and commissioning of civil works and electrical systems, and Gold Wind, the EPC Contractor for the supply, erection, and commissioning of the wind turbines. RSWE and its Owner’s Engineer, Tractable Engineering GmbH, also supervise the works at the site.
